Hallo I’ m Timothy Falorni. I cope since birth with the consequences of a cerebral palsy: spasms, difficulties in movement and speech, lack of hearing, fatigue and unexpeted periods of immobility.
Since October 2017 I play wheelchair rugby for the Amsterdam Terminator. For the first time I’m part of a team and the quality of my life improved immensely!
Now I’m selected to play in the Nederland national team. After becoming European champion B series in Finland in October 2018, our team is now training hard in European A series to qualify for the Tokyo Paralympics 2020.
Wheelchair rugby is not a well know sport (take a look! it's really cool!!!) Very little support is offered, but quite a lot of expenses are to be sustain. The wheel chairs are used like bumpers car and need constant reparation and replacement. Also travelling across Nederland and Europe is manly at our own expenses.
The past one and a half year i've been using a borrowed second-hand chair. Now I really need to have my own. A rugby wheelchair cost an average of €8.500.
I’m currently still studying to become a web developer, I train a lot and my body need a lot of rest as well. So I really could use some of your help! Supporting me means support the Netherlands team! I need good wheels to kick some asses!!!!!
